Torbay Car Boot Sale is a proper treasure hunt! I’ve seen tables piled with old clocks, chipped mugs, and toys tumbling everywhere.
Furniture’s always about—grabbed a little side table once for £3, still use it! Clothes are a big deal—summer shorts, thick coats, even a straw hat I wore all July.
Seasonal stuff shifts with the weather. April’s got gardening bits—pots, trowels, sacks of bulbs. October brings Halloween gear—masks, lanterns, spooky odds and ends.
You’ll spot kitchen stuff too—old kettles, stacks of plates, even a bread bin I nabbed. Every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from April to October, 6:30 am to 1:00 pm—it’s a haul worth waking up for!
Torbay’s got that seaside sparkle. I’ve picked up fresh crab sticks from a local and jars of Paignton-made marmalade—zesty stuff!
Vintage finds are gold—like a ship’s lantern or a faded postcard of Torbay’s coast. Found a hand-stitched cushion once—proper Devon charm.
There are beachy bits, too—shell crafts or a bucket and spade going cheap. It’s not just stuff—it’s a taste of the bay. Makes every buy a little memory.
The sellers are a lively bunch! Some bring handmade goodies—crocheted coasters, driftwood art, or little soaps that smell like the sea.
Others unload vintage gear—old radios, sailor hats, even a telescope I haggled over! Then there’s the clear-out lot—books, tools, a random vase nobody wants.
You’ll see beach traders too—flip-flops, towels, and sunnies in summer. It’s a fresh mix every week. Keeps me guessing who’ll turn up next!
Who’s behind the stalls? Mostly Paignton locals clearing out—mums with kids’ clothes, blokes with fishing rods or golf clubs.
Regulars pitch up every Sunday, April to October, their vans stuffed full. Seasonal sellers join in—summer folks with picnic gear, autumn ones with cosy blankets.
They’re a cheery lot, taking £9.50 for cars, £12.50 for vans. Met an old fella once who’s been selling since the site was a steam rally—loves the early banter.
They keep Torbay ticking. Always got a yarn to spin if you’ve time to chat!
Some sellers are pure gold. There’s this chap with nautical bits—anchors, ropes, a ship’s wheel once! Another’s a baker—scones and pasties that vanish quick.
Met a lady with vintage jewellery—nabbed a sea-glass ring for a tenner. There’s a young lad too, sells upcycled stuff—lamps from jars, quirky and cheap.
Once saw a stall with old surfing mags—proper retro! These folks bring the fun. Every table’s a little adventure.
Torbay’s got a cracking buzz. Regulars nod hello—there’s this old dear with a flask every week. Newbies get a warm “morning” too.
Families rummage with kids in tow. Older folks haggle over teapots or swap seaside tales. It’s lively but easy-going—just how I like it.
The air’s full of tea steam and chatter. Seagulls swoop overhead, adding that coastal feel. It’s a Sunday well spent!
The food vans are a treat—tea, pasties, maybe a bacon roll if you’re early. Smells waft over by 8:00 am—hard to resist.
No music or fancy stuff, but the crowd’s the show—kids begging for toys, sellers shouting prices. Toilets are there when nature calls.
It’s simple but alive—coin clinks, laughs, and a sea breeze. Keeps you hooked ’til noon!
Paignton’s got some cracking extras. There’s a cafe nearby—coffee and a fry-up if you’re peckish after.
The seafront’s a short hop—beach, piers, fish and chips aplenty. I’ve wandered there post-shop—perfect combo.
A few shops are close too—grab a paper or an ice cream. Makes Torbay a full morning out!
Parking’s a breeze—plenty of space, no booking needed. Cars and vans roll in from 7:00 am, all sorted.
It’s flat and open—good for pushchairs or creaky knees. Toilets are on-site—clean enough for a quick stop.
Food keeps you going—grab a sausage roll or a cold drink. It’s fuss-free and ready for everyone!
Torbay’s a standout. The seaside edge beats inland boots—fresher air, better vibes.
It’s big but not chaotic—more relaxed than city markets. The range is ace—beats the same old tat elsewhere.
No booking’s a win—rock up and dive in. You get a proper Devon day for your quid—or whatever entry is!
You’re right by Torbay’s best. Paignton’s beach is minutes away—sand, waves, a quick dip if it’s warm.
The zoo’s nearby too—fancy a gander at monkeys after? I’ve done both—boots then a stroll by the pier.
There’s the steam railway too—old trains chugging along. Makes it more than a market—it’s a trip!
April starts with a bang—everyone’s clearing out spring junk. Summer Sundays get busy—extra stalls, sunny crowds.
October wraps up with a flourish—last chance for deals before winter. It’s from 6:30 am to 1:00 pm every week.
Once saw a mega day in August—cars everywhere! Keeps the early risers on their toes.
No set themes, but seasons sneak in. Spring’s full of gardening gear—forks, seeds, pots galore.
Summer’s beachy—towels, buckets, even a kite once. October’s got Halloween bits—spooky masks, cheap decorations.
Sellers tweak their stuff to match. Keeps it fresh—always a new reason to swing by!
That’s Torbay Car Boot Sale in a nutshell! I’ve been mad about car boots for years, and this one’s a Paignton peach.
It’s more than just finds—like that cushion I nabbed or the pasties I scoff. It’s the seaside air, the early buzz, and a cracking morning out.
Every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from April to October, 6:30 am to 1:00 pm—it’s a steal, and free entry and parking for buyers. Sellers pile in, tables bursting—you’ll grab something good.
No booking, just turn up—parking’s easy, food’s hot, toilets handy. Dig through the loot, feel the Devon vibe—I’ve never left disappointed.
Paignton’s beaches and piers are a bonus after. Get down to Torbay, have a rummage, and see why I love it. You’ll be hooked too!
